Nutrition Helps More Than Weight Management

Meet Chel Stewart, a CORE57 tribe member since September 2019.

Chel’s story is unique because her primary motivation for nutrition coaching was to improve digestion, but along the way the changes she made helped her to shed additional body fat as well!

We talked with Chel about several different topics surrounding her nutrition journey and she shared with us how the changes impacted her relationship with food and her approach to nutrition.

Life Before Nutrition Coaching

“Before starting nutrition coaching with Rebecca, I thought I knew what to do, but it wasn’t working.  I knew something was “off” with my digestion but I couldn’t figure it out and I had significantly less energy.  Figuring it was related to sleep, exercise and/or water intake, I tried working on those things, but still wasn’t getting the desired result.” 

What Nutrition Coaching Taught Me

“Rebecca taught me to really tune in and listen to my body when experimenting with different foods, and now I am laser focused on what my body likes and dislikes.  She educated me on certain ingredients in foods that I was unaware were most likely contributing to my gut issues.  We discovered that I can tolerate certain dairy, but only in controlled amounts, and that my body really does prefer to not have gluten.”  

Modifying My Diet

“I don’t feel deprived because I have found many alternatives that I enjoy and feeling better is more than enough motivation for sticking to my unique nutrition strategy.  I have my go-to meals and snacks that are staples, yet my husband and I love going out to eat and trying exotic cuisines and I’m still able to do that without any anxiety or stress, which is a huge win!”  

Saving Room For Dessert

“I am also a sweets girl, so I mindfully enjoy my chocolate on a daily basis and work in other baked goods and treats seamlessly now.”
