Breaking Plateaus and Building Strength: Jeanne’s CORE57 Story

Jeanne, in her own words, opens up about her struggles, triumphs, and everything in between on her wellness and nutrition coaching journey with CORE57's nutrition coach, Rebecca. Jeanne's Nutrition Story
"I have been on a wellness and weight loss journey since 2022, when I was at my heaviest. I had tried many paths—diets, weight loss drugs, walking, and more. I lost about 25 pounds in six months just walking, but then I hit a plateau and decided to rejoin CORE57 (I had been a member years ago).
"I always loved the community atmosphere, but I struggled to be consistent. This time was different. I met Rebecca, and something clicked! She ‘SAW’ me and believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. I have a big personality and can hide behind humor, but she told me point blank, ‘I am not letting you quit or disappear.’ That hit me hard—in the best way possible.”
Building Strength—Physically and Mentally
"I worked out consistently for about a year and lost another 5 to 10 pounds. But more than anything, I began to feel STRONG—both physically and mentally! I could keep up and sometimes even surprised myself.
"Over time, I paid attention to highlights on the CORE57 Facebook page and asked Rebecca about nutrition coaching. I thought I knew it ALL! Turns out, there’s a reason to have a coach in your life. Rebecca listened to me, heard me, and designed a plan that fit my lifestyle. I dreaded weigh-ins and measuring my body, but Rebecca met me where I was."
The Lessons That Changed Everything
"I worked in hospitality in my career, and I love REAL FOOD. I don’t like fake foods, and Rebecca understood that. I learned that there aren’t “bad foods” but that I needed to learn how to be more intentional and strategic in planning my day to be able to incorporate what I love. It really helped me be mindful of what I was eating each day and throughout the entire week.
"Some of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned with Rebecca include:
Don’t beat myself up.
Protein is POWER.
Carbs work for me in moderation.
It’s okay—even necessary—to ask for HELP.
Fill my plate with fiber-rich foods to stay full and help with digestion.
Be honest with myself (and my coach) about what I’m eating and drinking.
It’s more about the journey than the destination.
Starting your day with a lot of protein and fiber sets your whole day up for success and reduces cravings later on.
Find things you enjoy eating, and make modifications to fit your body’s needs. Having a few “go-to” meals that you truly enjoy and don’t require too much thought or effort is KEY to staying consistent."
A Collaborative Approach
"One thing different about our approach that I really appreciated was NOT counting calories. And I loved that we emphasized 'non-scale victories.' This was very personal, and not medical or sterile or like a dictatorship. It was very collaborative.
"Transformation is a BIG WORD, and I KNOW I have changed my mindset! I've learned it's not about calories or a number on the scale, but truly showing up each day for myself and ENJOYING the ride. Small victories built up over time—things like better sleep, less medicine, no snoring, being able to do a Turkish Get-Up, and feeling STRONG in both body and mind. Yes, the smaller pant size, too!

A Message for Anyone on the Fence
“To anyone hesitating to try nutrition coaching with Rebecca, here’s my message to you. Friend, DO NOT WAIT! I waited and made excuses. All the while, I continued to buy Starbucks, Athleta clothes, dinners out at restaurants—so much money that I could have put toward my HEALTH. Asking for help is NOT weakness. It’s one of the strongest things you can do for yourself. And YOU ARE WORTH IT!

"Jeanne was SO hyper-focused on the scale when we first started. To her, success was determined by the number going down. She also felt that she knew what to do with her food. She had hit a plateau in her results, but was frustrated and confused because she was working out five days a week intensely and making better food choices—why was it not working?
"The biggest needle drivers for our work were Jeanne’s commitment to our process of sharing her food with me (which did feel a bit uncomfortable to her in the beginning), but it brought to light areas that we could work on to help her achieve the necessary calorie deficit for fat loss. Also very powerful was Jeanne’s addition of more daily steps and walks. You guys hear me say it all the time, but non-exercise activity is often one of the biggest KEYS to getting our body to cooperate. Daily steps accumulated are SO IMPACTFUL for body composition, stress management, blood sugar control, and therefore balancing other hormones!
"If I had to describe Jeanne’s process (which is still ongoing), I would say that it has been a slow, steady burn, which has turned into a really strong bonfire that I don’t see going out ever! Initially, there was some resistance and frustration, which kept her in a negative thought pattern. But Jeanne decided to TRUST the process—me, and her body. She showed up and was relentlessly consistent, even when she didn’t want to. And BAM! Her body started responding! Jeanne realized that this is truly a journey, not a destination.
"A big part of her 'Why' was to refocus on herself, after being of service for so many years—wife, working professional, supermom…but now it is JEANNE’S time! And what’s even cooler is that this chapter of her story has inspired her family members to start taking better care of themselves, too. She is leading by example! I am so honored to be part of her reclamation of herself and cannot wait to see what we accomplish together in the future!"
