SARA HARRISON
Fitness Trainer / Nutrition Coach
Two Words That Describe Sara:
ENCOURAGING & DEDICATED
Being healthy is a lifestyle that I am passionate about and want to share with clients.
I have been an active person all my life. I grew up in Upstate NY playing basketball, tennis and field hockey in school to running and group exercise in my 20s and 30s after I graduated from Miami University in Ohio in Business. I started my fitness teaching with step aerobics at a Jack LaLanne studio in New Jersey back in the early 90s – yes I wore a leotard with a belt!! I love his quote “You need to make good health a hobby.” !
Moving around the US (eight states), raising a family with my husband Scott and working, kept me away from fitness instructing for a while but I always enjoyed staying active through running and participation in ALTA and USTA tennis. Several years ago, I won a raffle item that was a free month at a local gym that used kettlebells during their classes. I joined there and quickly fell in love with kettlebells, as they are an efficient and effective tool to help build overall strength and burn fat. I became certified with StrongFirst as an SFG1 and began teaching kettlebell classes in 2012 and have not stopped!
I am a firm believer that nutrition is THE BIGGEST part of a healthy lifestyle. I completed my Precision Nutrition Level 1 (2018) and Level 2 (2021) certification to be educated on how to help clients develop healthy habits with eating. With so much nutrition information out there, it is important to focus on how we stay balanced with eating and keep it simple.
If I am not at the gym or working, you can find me enjoying downtown Alpharetta with Scott and our dog Beau, trying new healthy recipes, playing tennis, or visiting with my adult kids - Will, who lives here in Atlanta or Emma in Greenville, South Carolina. I love helping others strive for balance in all aspects of their being – mind, body and spirit!
