Making Meaningful Change with CORE57’s Wellness Recalibration Program

At CORE57, we are constantly inspired by the amazing journeys of our members, and Angie Stitcher’s story is a perfect example of what’s possible with the right support and dedication. Angie took charge of her health by joining our Wellness Recalibration Program, which gave her 12 weeks of personalized nutrition coaching and a movement prescription. With guidance from our in-house nutrition coach Rebecca, Angie made meaningful changes that transformed her health, mindset, and life.

Making Time for Herself Again

“Before I started at CORE57, I had put myself and my health on the back burner. I’m a career woman, wife, and mother to two beautiful daughters, and it’s easy to show up for everyone else! As I entered this next phase of life, I realized I did not feel my best and was spinning my wheels to get things under control.

“One is that Rebecca never told me I COULDN’T have something. When I started with her, I said I’d do anything but give up my wine, and she didn’t make me! However, over time, I really started to feel the difference in my body when I drank less.

"Three glasses a night became one, and many times none! I don’t miss it now because I sleep better, think clearer, and have way more energy! Of course, I still have an occasional cocktail, but the frequency has drastically decreased, and I no longer feel like I want to use alcohol to wind down from a stressful, busy day.”

“The next difference is that I didn’t have to track or count calories, macros, or points, or eat pre-packaged foods. I’ve done all that before, and it was too much to keep up with and was not sustainable for me.

"Rebecca taught me how to get enough protein and seek out more fruits and veggies. By following our flexible structure, which is customized to me, I can EAT REAL FOOD, including my beloved tortilla chips!

"She gave me a lot of meal and snack ideas that were not only easy and convenient but that actually taste great. My family started ‘stealing’ my new food options, which can pose an issue when I planned on eating something, only to find out someone already did! But this also makes me happy that we are all benefitting!”

Simple, Small Shifts That Add Up
“The third difference is that I have worked hard to keep these behavior shifts small and manageable. I traveled A LOT for work, and I hate to say it, but Rebecca has made this EASY for me.

"I’ve been able to get great results by keeping a balanced mindset, not expecting perfection or getting down on myself. This is growth for me because I’m super type A and can fall into an ‘all or nothing’ mindset. If a last-minute work conflict got in the way of my workout, I went for a walk or bike ride instead! I also feel more motivated and inclined to be more active in general!”

A Ripple Effect for the Whole Family

“Because our approach has been so successful, my whole family has seen the change and jumped on board, not only to support me, but because they see how well it works.

"We look up recipes and cook together as a family, which has been so great! My teenage daughters are learning how eating more protein and balancing their meals helps them feel and perform better in their activities, too!”

"I thought I was doomed to keep spinning my wheels and succumbing to hormonal belly fat gain, and I lost 4 inches in my waist ALONE!!! That’s huge!! And I didn’t have to go on medications or adhere to a restrictive diet! JUST DO IT!”

From Coach Rebecca’s Perspective

Breaking Free from Diet Culture

One of the first things I noticed about Angie was her realization that “diets” with a lot of rules just didn’t work for her. She accepted the fact that as driven as she is, and as much as she wanted fast results, she needed to shift her mindset and commit to the long game.

Another mindset shift I saw with her was that she worked on letting go of “all or nothing,” which had been her MO in the past. Due to her hectic work demands and schedule (not to mention her family priorities), Angie had to be flexible while staying committed. She came in at 6 AM for workouts, even though she is not an early morning person. She utilized hotel gyms on the road, even if it was just to get some cardio in, and if she couldn’t make it to the gym on a scheduled day, she still went for a walk or bike ride!

Little choices like this go a long way in keeping up momentum, increasing self-efficacy, and building confidence. She was PROVING to herself that she would SHOW UP for HERSELF, just as she shows up for everyone else.

Learning to Apply Nutrition Knowledge

Angie also really leaned into learning the “what” and “why” of CORE57’s nutrition strategies instead of just blindly following them. When she started to understand things like energy balance, nutrient density, and how to eat more of certain foods to stay full while being in a deficit, she learned how to APPLY these concepts to her daily nutrition. It’s that kind of mindset shift that creates lasting success!

Tailor-Made Support

I like to tell my clients that I am their “back pocket nutritionist,” and Angie really took advantage of that. She would send me questions from the grocery store or photos of a restaurant menu if she wasn’t sure about a choice. I loved being able to send encouraging voice memos to remind her of her goals as well as new recipe ideas I thought she and her family would enjoy.

Working with Angie has been nothing other than a true pleasure and honor because she decided she was TRULY READY and was open to my help. For those of us who tend to want to "please" those around them, having to be accountable to a coach can actually work in your favor, especially when starting out a new program.
