Instructor Highlight - Fran Ritter
Q: What inspires you?
A: Speaking honestly, many things inspire me but I will narrow it down to 2-3. I am inspired by the day-to-day challenges and unique opportunities. I am inherently wired to be a fixer and love the complexities of a problem, big or small, and the opportunity to make it work better and more efficiently. In doing so, I create an opportunity to expand in my own life with just the day-to-day challenges. This brings me joy. I also am inspired by happiness. Seeing happiness in others and finding happiness in a day. I love looking at others' smiles, eyes bright and the body language is open and jovial. That “full of happiness” inspires me to be happy each day. I am inspired and look to seek it out daily. Lastly, I am inspired by the self-efficacy of others. Their innate ability To develop the confidence to exert control over their behavior and social environment as well as their ability to execute actions necessary to accomplish tasks. Seeing this in others inspires me greatly.
Q: Which CORE57 foundation resonates with you and why?
A: Life balance resonates with me the greatest. I work hard to make sure my work and personal life have a sense of harmony and this gives me happiness and fulfillment. Balance is about feeling good about myself and being in control of my life and career path. The blending of these two gives me the life I desire the most.
Q: Why did you pick fitness as a career?
A: In my 40s I began to see the value of recovery and decided I wanted to learn more and teach recovery. Recovery has allowed me to have more fulfilled days in a week, mentally and physically, as I age. We are not promised tomorrow and I want to make sure each and every day I am living is one with mental and physical health for as long as I can. Waking up alive and being able to do the activities of my day, is something I do not take for granted and it has a lot to do with my mental and physical fitness and recovery.
Q: How do you like to spend your free time?
A: Love spending my free time with my family and my two pups. I love being near water, whether it is in our pool, at the beach, or weekend-ing at our lake house.
Q: Do you have a favorite quote?
A: “Everything is a BIG deal when you live as if tomorrow is not promised." My dad said this a lot and I am not sure where it originated from. My dad had MS from the time I was born until he passed at 57 yr old, I was 34 yr old.
Q: What is a goal you have for this 2022?
A: To get my RAD certification, renew my CDCES, and focus on my last child being home. Enjoy little moments with her. The big moments are generally planned events, but the little moments are usually the spontaneous ones that become special.
