With Age Comes Wisdom, But Let’s Also Add Health!

Fifty is fabulous! Forty is the new 30! Age is all a matter of mindset! 

All the above is true, and the trend of the millennium has been rejecting the tired tropes that you need to enter into aging with grace and forgo the feelings of youth experienced for most your lifetime. We can age with energy and vigor, continue to do the passions of our youth, and still demonstrate grace!

No longer is aging accepted as a process that sends your body downhill. We know so much more about the science behind aging, and we have options that not only keep us looking younger but truly feeling better as we get older. 

Fitness Forever

By staying active, older adults improve their later years. It’s been proven that exercise can extend lifespan and increase health by fighting disease. While the body does decline, it doesn’t need to be a landslide. Soften the fall with activity that keeps the body in motion to delay or even prevent the decline. More options exist for modifying routines or offering whole programs dedicated to the aging body. 

In fact, movement is a benefit to the aging population because it is the solution for many conditions that affect the range of motion. Movement is still possible. You can still be active. It takes the right modifications and a knowledgeable guide through exercises that allow senior citizens to continue to be active. It can be done.

Stay In The Groove

Healthy living has been in the mainstream for long enough that aging populations have been involved for decades. Many are entering into their 40’s 50’s, and 60’s with the feelings and bodies of a much younger era! They don’t want to quietly sit down and move into the background, nor should they! 

They belong in the gyms and health centers, and facilities should have programs that meet their needs. These aging adults should have access to a place where they can continue their activity without feeling out of place. Just because they are older does not mean they cannot be working out!
